Back in the Saddle again! MAYBE!

HOWDY FOLKS!

I'VE HAD A COUPLE OF MONTHS OFF FROM MY BLOG POSTINGS FOR HEALTH REASONS, BUT I'M THINKING OF LAUNCHING OFF AGAIN BECAUSE OF THE MANY PEOPLE WHO HAVE CONTACTED ME ABOUT CONTINUING IN A CHANGED FORMAT. I DON'T HAVE THE TIME OR ENERGY TO POST AS I DID FOR MOST OF LAST YEAR. MY THOUGHTS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

STARTING NEXT WEEK, I PLAN TO DO A WEEKLY, MUCH SHORTER POSTING TITLED

"POTS AND PROCESSES"

IT WILL BE LIKE AN EDUCATIONAL SPOTLIGHT ON VARIOUS HISTORICAL POTTERY STYLES AND THE METHODS THAT  BROUGHT THEM INTO EXISTENCE. ONCE IN A WHILE I WILL ALSO INCLUDE DETAILS OF WHAT IS IN FLOWER IN THE GARDEN.

DOES THIS INTEREST YOU?

IF IT DOES, PLEASE CONTACT ME AND I WILL PROCEED.

IF I DON'T HEAR FROM READERS, I WILL ASSUME THERE IS NO INTEREST AND PUT MY TIME INTO SOMETHING ELSE.

BEST WISHES TO ALL MY READERS.

CONGRATULATIONS TO MY IDENTICAL TWIN GRANDDAUGHTERS, ROBYN AND KAYLA, WHO BECAME 21 TODAY. THEY WERE BORN ON THE LAST NIGHT OF NCECA IN PHILADELPHIA. TONIGHT, THEIR BROTHER BEN RECEIVES A GOOD SIZED SCHOLARSHIP FOR HIS EDUCATION IN THE SCIENCES.

  1. Welcome back, Robin...I've been waiting for you. Well, since you don't know me, perhaps that sounds a bit too personal. But blog-land does need your input, especially about ceramics! Barb at Alchemy of Clay

  4. Really looking forward to your thoughts about historical pots. As I live in a small town and do not have easy access to museums I think your posts will be especially valuable to me.

  5. I too am a mom of identical twin daughters - they're 14 1/2 yrs. old. I've been potting for a little over 20 years now...felt like I stalled out when I had the babes, but was still able to get in the studio now and then. Have just been able to get back to doing it pretty full time again for the past year and a half or so - woo hoo. I truly enjoy your posts and your pots...If you've got the energy...I've got the desire! Thank you!

    1. Absolutely and totally i'd be so interested in seeing you back here with your words of wisdom Robin! I've followed your blog for a while - and your books have been an indespensible source during my 28 or so years as a full time potter! i also feel a new type of kinship....i too am the mother (altho i realise you are not a mother....) of idential twin girls....24 years old, one lives out on the west coast, Vancouver, and i'm planning to visit her this fall...perhaps i could drop by and have a peek at your place!

cheers, Linda Wright, Cape Breton Island, N.S.

  8. Yes, Robin, please continue to educate us. You bring important information to our attention in a world that moves quickly. I bet you have flowers coming up, while we still have quite a bit of snow on the ground. Congratulations to your grandson and his scholarship.

A suggestion: a weekly "wordless wednesday" - just snaps from around the studio of whatever you are working on.
