PLEASE ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MYSELF,
I’M A MAN OF CLAY AND GLAZE
PUSHED MUD AROUND FOR SEVENTY YEARS
OR TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND DAYS.
Robin Hopper is a man of many parts, mostly worn out, rusty or dysfunctional, due to a lifetime of excesses! He started working with clay at the age of three and is still doing it over 70 years later. His lengthy, peripatetic career as a mudpusher has included side trips into working as a Professional Actor, Stage Designer, Property Maker, Stage Manager, Stage Carpenter, Grocer, Greengrocer, Jazz Musician, Teapot, Wine and Beer-Bottle, Trumpet, Trombone and Bugle Player, European Travel Guide, Founder of Several Clay/Art/Craft Organizations, Alchemist, Geologist, Primatologist, Linguist, Ornithologist, Botanist, Ceramic Historian, Educator, Author, Garden Designer, Lecturer on Japanese Garden Design, Laborer and Star of Stage, Screen and Potter’s Wheel!
Dear Robin:
ReplyDeleteThanks for giving us all the beauty you have shared here. I am certain you'll keep on producing more beauty even if you can't sit there and type for a blog. I'll miss you here though.

Oh Robin.....This is sad news indeed. (And I still think that people who say old age is great are ### liars!) You have been a fount of wisdom, information and just plain good times over the course of the blog. Couldn't somebody in your area come over and post for you while you dictate? I do hope your problems are solved whether or not you are able to resume the blog.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of plants, geodes and pots. Is your bleeding heart really in bloom? Mine is just beginning to show a few sprouts.
We'll see, Grasshopper..........*s*
P.S. I'm still experimenting with moss and ceramic ink!
So sorry to hear your health is suffering again I hope you get well soon and can enjoy your Spring garden which I am sure is wonderful judging from the lovely bleeding heart there. I know how debilitating health issues can be, some days all I can do is get to the blog to write a post and read and comment on others so I'm happy for yours and others.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh :(...I, too, am sorry to hear this news, Robin. You are a wealth of information (an understatement), and I know that a lot of people read your blog.. (I agree with Smartcat on the dictation to typist idea)...:)..Do take care and somehow keep us posted on your health..Enjoy your Spring.. we have another three inches of snow!!! Trish from Alberta
ReplyDeleteUntil you blog again, thanks for everything.
ReplyDeleteDamn! That is all I have to say. Hugs to you.
ReplyDeleteRobin-
ReplyDeleteYou have been my greatest mentor in art and an inspiration to all who have had the good fortune to cross your path. I, too, am jealous of the early spring blossoms you have posted from Vancouver Island. Here in Vermont we had to tolerate a day of sleet and freezing rain. However, you taught me years ago that there is beauty and inspiration in everything and it is the inner vision and application by the artist that makes it uniquely his/her own!
Until we meet again-
