UNFORTUNATELY, I HAVEN'T THE TIME OR ENERGY TO KEEP ON DOING THE BLOG, GARDEN, CORRESPONDENCE AND OTHER THINGS AS WELL.
WITH MY REMAINING ENERGY, I'M PLANNING TO WORK ON A NEW, UPDATED, SECOND EDITION
OF MY FOURTH BOOK,
"MAKING MARKS"
THERE WILL BE MANY CHANGES REFLECTING RECENT DEVELOPMENTS, AS THE FIRST EDITION WAS WRITTEN TEN YEARS AGO. OBSERVATIONS OF WHAT WAS HAPPENING THEN AND DEVELOPMENTS SINCE, OPENS MANY NEW DOORS FOR EXPLORATION. WITH LUCK, IT SHOULD BE PUBLISHED IN SUMMER 2015
Thank - you, Robin.
ReplyDeleteFarewell.
Thanks ever so much for all you have given to the pottery world, love your pottery, pottery books and gardens and inspirations..
ReplyDeleteRobin, I'm sorry to see you put the blog to rest, but look forward to your update of your book. You continue to be an inspiration with everything you do. For that I am grateful to you. All the Best from your NC blogging brother!
ReplyDeleteThanks Michael. I wish that I could visit you and your studio, but that is most unlikely. My medical people have made me a personal no-fly, no teach zone. Bummer! As you know, I really enjoy your work and the personal profile you have developed since the second edition of Functional Pottery. Keep up with the good work. Best wishes, Robin (GRASS)
DeleteFarewell, and thank you for your leadership and inspiration. As the seasons change, so our expressions change. I know I'll be seeing you again.
ReplyDeleteThank you Robin for your ongoing wealth of information. Your garden is so beautiful. Thank you for those images. I was talking with a young painter today. She had to drop out of school with only one semester left. I told her what you told me, "You have the skills, get to work, keep your eyes open, and keep making." I look forward to your newest edition of "Making Marks". Hope to see you in March. Hugs to you and Judi.
ReplyDeleteHi Cyndi, Depending on the school that your young friend is at, missing the final semester might well be the best thing for her. The final semester is usually brutal with pressure and is often the cause of many breakdowns and the development of severe depression. If she wants a degree, she has no option but to stay in school or go back to school later. If she wants to paint, Jump into it with full force and give all she has, developing and building on skills she already has. Best wishes, rh
ReplyDeleteHi Robin;
ReplyDeleteI gave her some goals for submitting work in the gallery and we will see where so goes with the project. She has talent. We will see. Best to you too. C.
Hi Robin
ReplyDeleteThose garden photos are beautiful. We shall look for your writing in other formats, and look forward to it. Best wishes! Enjoy the glory of the garden and the clay the plants take root in :)
I hope you decide to come back and publish again. I will really miss this. I have enjoyed reading. Thanks for your thoughts and comments.
