MOST OF THIS IS FOUND JUST OUTSIDE MY STUDIO AS PART OF A LARGE GARDEN WHERE PLANT SELECTION WAS FOR FORM AND COLOR, AND COULD BE INTERPRETED WITH MANY POSSIBLE VARIATIONS OF CERAMIC PROCESS.

UNFORTUNATELY, I HAVEN'T THE TIME OR ENERGY TO KEEP ON DOING THE BLOG, GARDEN, CORRESPONDENCE AND OTHER THINGS AS WELL.
WITH MY REMAINING ENERGY, I'M PLANNING TO WORK ON A NEW, UPDATED, SECOND EDITION
OF MY FOURTH BOOK,
"MAKING MARKS"
THERE WILL BE MANY CHANGES REFLECTING RECENT DEVELOPMENTS, AS THE FIRST EDITION WAS WRITTEN TEN YEARS AGO. OBSERVATIONS OF WHAT WAS HAPPENING THEN AND DEVELOPMENTS SINCE, OPENS MANY NEW DOORS FOR EXPLORATION. WITH LUCK, IT SHOULD BE PUBLISHED IN SUMMER 2015

ReplyDeleteThanks Michael. I wish that I could visit you and your studio, but that is most unlikely. My medical people have made me a personal no-fly, no teach zone. Bummer! She had to drop out of school with only one semester left. I told her what you told me, "You have the skills, get to work, keep your eyes open, and keep making." I look forward to your newest edition of "Making Marks". Hope to see you in March. Hugs to you and Judi.
ReplyDeleteHi Cyndi, Depending on the school that your young friend is at, missing the final semester might well be the best thing for her. The final semester is usually brutal with pressure and is often the cause of many breakdowns and the development of severe depression. If she wants a degree, she has no option but to stay in school or go back to school later. If she wants to paint, Jump into it with full force and give all she has, developing and building on skills she already has. Best wishes, rh
